Glyndwr University

Glyndŵr University is a vibrant, friendly place where each student's learning and future is given personal attention.
The facilities are excellent, as you'd expect from a University that values the spirit of enterprise and puts employability at the heart of everything it does. Courses are designed to provide employers with exactly what they're looking for and many have been created with their direct input. Support, both in helping students plan their careers and their lives outside of the world of work, is always on hand via our careers team, as well as other expert advisers and counsellors.
We are proud to name our University after a man who cherished learning, loved his country, embraced an international outlook, and constantly demonstrated an inspiring and enterprising approach to life. His spirit lies at the heart of Glyndŵr University. Our aim is to make Glyndŵr a world-famous University that will make anyone connected with Wales justifiably proud.

Our Campuses & Facilities
Glyndŵr University's main campus is located on the north western side of Wrexham in North East Wales. Here, it has two main sites within five minutes' walk of each other.
The Wrexham campus, on the Mold Road and next to Wrexham's Racecourse football ground, is the larger of the two and houses the majority of the University's courses. The North Wales School of Art & Design is based at Regent Street, which is a mere ten minutes' walk away towards the town centre. Two new centres are currently in development on the campus, the Creative Industries centre and a new Centre for the Child.
Between the two sites lies Wrexham General railway station, and the bus station is located in the town centre, just five minutes' walk from Regent Street.
Glyndŵr University's rural Northop campus is the first ever university campus in Flintshire (the largest county by population in North Wales). This campus is a blossoming centre of excellence for land and animal-based studies.
Part of the University's world-leading Materials Science Research Centre, which was highly commended in the latest RAE, opTIC Glyndwr Ltd is an internationally renowned research and knowledge transfer centre on the North Wales coast. The research team are working with the best in the world - from University of Cambridge, UCL and Cranfield - to design and build prototypes for the world's largest telescope, develop new processes for the production of holograms and find improved methods for harvesting energy from sunlight.
Glyndŵr University is set to open a new Creative Industries Centre in early 2011. The £5m development at its Wrexham site will be a focal point for activities related to the creative industries, promoting greater interdisciplinary collaboration and involving subjects ranging from art and design to computing and engineering.
Set to open in early 2011, the centre reflects Glyndŵr University's commitment to the creative industries and their key role in economic development. It will also help develop the innovation which is already at the heart of the University's approach to teaching and research.
